A friend commented on how much fun visiting my home town would be “a real slice of Americana!” The phrase stuck with me, just on the periphery of my conscious…changing the way I see my family, my home and my hometown. What a gift!
Here’s what I’m seeing now that I’ve never photographed before…

Mom's (a.k.a. Waffle Momma) waffle breakfast!

Best swimming hole ever! Powers, Oregon

Old homestead in Powers, Oregon

Grocery store in Coquille that I've shopped at since I was old enough to walk.

Coquille's Broadway!

Oldest tavern in Oregon until it closed a year or two ago.

The buildings I'd love to see turned into a brew pub / pizzeria & theater!

Mural on the side of the old theater...more than one motorist has tried to turn down its street.

Jolynn,
I LOVE this, absolutely LOVE it! I look forward to your posts from all your travels and live for the pictures… and here you go back “home” and find the things you have known since childhood… ones I have lived 3 hrs from and never seen before. You have inspired me to go down my street and take pictures of the “regular” things that I see every day! Hope your travels are keeping you well… and if you have time for a visit before you go call me!

Fun pictures. I laughed about the mural — I would have been one of those motorists turning down that road!
