Please!!! The rain in Spain has got nothing on Thailand. Erynn and I went out to dinner tonight at a little place around the corner from our hotel. It’s a little Chinese, a little Thai and a little..well, who knows. But the food is good and inexpensive. It’s also the place we ate our first night here.
The first night the heavens opened during dinner – fortunately we timed it right and the rain let up by the time we left. Tonight our timing was a little off – the rain started in, lightly at first, and then just cut loose.
No, really I’m not kidding. First, let’s be clear, I’m from Oregon. Before tonight I would have told you, with an arrogant sneer, that I’m no stranger to rain. I’ve even developed webbed feet etc. (Yep, Go Ducks!!!). I even survived a rainy season in Central America without much surprise…but today, I learned that I am a stranger to real rain.
Okay, I know I’m going on longer than I should about this, but really – I can’t describe the rain. Even if you got in your shower with all your clothes on…it would pale in comparison. Maybe if you were surfing in Hawaii and had a30′ wave come crashing over you…you might just begin to get what I’m trying to describe.
I tried to take photos…they’re all pretty lame, but it really was that impressive!
