It sounded like a good idea… a hike outside of Kabul. It was just a couple of hours and only a couple of steep inclines. What I hadn’t anticipated was the elevation.
Kabul is already at 5,900 feetย (1,800m) give or take and the area we hiked was higher still. This is the first real sustained exercise I’ve had since spending 6 weeks laid out with Typhoid/Hepatitis. The result…me trailing the pack and sucking wind.
Put simply, it was worth every gasp, every long pause and every currently aching muscle!

Nice images. What camera are you using?
Jolynn, what great pictures. Beautiful panoramic views and I love the tortoise, he’s adorable. I didn’t realize that Kabul elevation was that high, no wonder you were sucking air ๐ Have a nice weekend.
Love,
Auntie

Hi Jolynn, Jamie, our niece, is finally going to contact you. We feel she could use some experienced advice. She’s days away from departing for Uganda with no contacts there. Needless to say we’re very concerned.
