Am too tired to write…but here are a couple of photos from my balcony!

Mud roof.
The mud brick buildings here are remarkable! They are covered in a mud and straw mixture….even the roof is made of the same material. The structures last for about two years before they are in need of repair. As for keeping the roofs watertight, many people are now placing a layer of plastic between the rafters and roof to ensure the room is waterproof.
We’ve had a lot of rain this spring. As a result, many roofs are covered in grass. One nearby roof has a few wild flowers! When I asked about the verdant roofs, I was informed that to keep things from growing you have to toss out some salt.
…and I thought I was being creative by using it to scrub my stove! Who knew!

Spring!
