Last weekend family traveled in from out of town to meet up at my place. All told we had three generations wrapped up in grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and a nephew.
We gathered to spend time with each other and ended up celebrating some remarkable anniversaries…Aunt Jeanne & Uncle Dick (42), Mom & Dad (43) and Grandma & Grandpa (69). That’s a lot of years of living, loving and just plain surviving one another! 🙂
Speaking of surviving…my parents helped drag my yard back from the brink! Between Sunday morning and a late lunch on Wednesday we managed to…
- pull 42 bags of debris out of my backyard (dad was the tree destroyer and mom was the queen of the fern debridement!)
- move my hot tub off my patio and onto its platform (full circle moment for Jill & I who build the platform last year!)
- pressure wash the patio (thanks to an early present of a pressure washer from mom & dad)
- plant some new shrubs / plants
May not sound like a lot – but it was crazy. My yard is almost too perfect…and now, I’m ready for company! 🙂
