8 a.m.
I’m surprised to find that I am the first to arrive at breakfast! I know we’ve got some new arrivals from Latin America – so am shocked to be the first one here.
Breakfast highlights include fresh fruit (watermelon & pineapple) fresh juice (passion fruit and pineapple) as well as dry white bread, and fresh omelets. Coffee is a powdered compound, not terrible, but one cup is generally sufficient!
The plan today is to go by private car to Jinja to see the “Source of the Nile.” I’ve asked three separate Ugandans what I should go see if I could only see one thing in their country…they all said, the source of the Nile – so here I go!
5 p.m.
A bit tired to really cover all the details – but the trip was good. First we went to Bujagali Falls – rapids is actually more accurate – but was glad to see them as they will be under water in another few years when the dam is completed.
On our way to Jinja we passed through a narrow swath of rainforest. It was beautiful and easily dropped the temperature by 10 degrees. Looking into the forest from the road you could see little as the foliage was dense and the trees towered overhead.
Found the following bummer sticker on the back fender of a motorcycle…pretty ambitious! 🙂
